EDWARD “EDDIE” J. HALL

Edward “Eddie” J. Hall, age 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away July 21, 2016.  He was born September 21, 1927 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Hall of West Virginia.

Edward is survived by his wife Ruth (Thomas) Hall of New Philadelphia.  They married in September 1947 and would have celebrated 69 years of marriage.  Five children survive, John Hall of California, Judy Farrow of Uhrichsville, Bob (Shelby) Hall of Scio, Diane Sheretts of New Philadelphia and Paul Hall of New Philadelphia.  A daughter Ruthann Slocum is deceased.  Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild complete the family.  A granddaughter is deceased.  Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John (Margaret) Martin of Tallmadge and Mrs. Ralph (Shirley) Workenaour of Kent.  Two brothers, an infant and Robert Hall, as well as three sisters, Hilda Miller, Alma Rubright and Nancy Pringle are deceased.  A close family friend Paul Bettes of New Philadelphia and two special son-in-laws Ralph Perry of Tuscarawas (Tusky) and Rick Sheretts of New Philadelphia also survive.

Edward was a veteran of World War II.  Edward and Ruth moved to Ohio from West Virginia in 1957.  He loved having family get-togethers and spending time with family.

Funeral services for Edward will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Michael Travis officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.

Calling hours will be from 10-12 (two hours prior to services) on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
